If you are planning on taking a trip to New York City this summer, then it is never too early to start planning your amazing adventures.  NYC is one of the best places to travel to in the world due to the fact that there are so many great adventures that you can embark on while in NYC.  If it is your first time visiting New York City, then these are some of the things that you simply cannot miss while in NYC.  Of course, there are more great things for you to do in New York City than you will ever be able to accomplish in one vacation, but these are the things that you must not miss.

Central Park:

Central Park is the biggest park in New York City, and Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux designed it.  If you are visiting New York City in the summer, Central Park is the perfect place for you to go on a pleasant afternoon bike ride.  While there are many places to rent bikes in NYC, there is a new bike sharing system known as Spinlister, in which individual New Yorkers suggest prices at which you can rent out their bikes for the day.  Spinlister is a great way to meet New Yorkers, save money on bike rentals, and also rent high quality bikes for a day or two while on your vacation.  While Central Park is a great place for you to visit during the summer, it is also the perfect place to go during the winter as well, due to the fact that there are a number of ice-skating rinks where you can ice skate and there are also a number of excellent sledding areas.

Museum Mile:

Museum Mile is an area in the Upper East Side, which is east of Central Park.  There are ten museums in museum mile, and the two most popular of those ten museums are the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Natural History Museum.  The Natural History Museum is considered one of the best natural history museums in the world due to the fact that it houses some of the best dinosaur fossils out of any other natural history museum on the planet.  The wooly mammoth skeleton will blow you away, as you realize just how big these creatures that roamed the earth once were. 

Rockefeller Center:

Rockefeller Center is a part of NYC that you may recognize even if you have never even been to New York City before.  The reason why you may recognize Rockefeller Center is due to the fact that you will recognize it from many television shows including The Today Show and Saturday Night Live.  If you arrive early enough for the taping of The Today Show, then you may have the opportunity to see yourself in the background of the news on television.  The reason why Rockefeller Center is such an important land mark in NYC is due to the fact that so many great television shows are filmed there.
